Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg represents a pivotal moment in Tesla’s mission to accelerate the global transition to sustainable energy. As a Team Lead Quality, you will ensure product and process compliance with Tesla’s stringent quality standards across diverse production areas (e.g., General Assembly, Body & White, Paint, Plastics, Injection Molding, Drive Unit Inverter). You will lead a team of quality inspectors, drive root cause analysis, and act as a bridge between production and engineering teams to uphold excellence.
What You'll Do
- Quality Oversight: Monitor inline and offline product/process quality, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate defects, identify systemic issues, and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with Quality Engineering to optimize production processes, reduce waste, and enhance product reliability.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain quality documentation (e.g., control plans, FMEAs, standard operating procedures).
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and train a team of 10–25 quality inspectors, delegating tasks and fostering a culture of accountability.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with production, engineering, and logistics to resolve quality issues and support new product launches.
- Reporting: Generate detailed quality reports, analyze trends, and present findings to stakeholders.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to ISO standards, safety protocols, and Tesla’s quality management systems.
What You'll Bring
- Education: Technical degree (e.g., engineering, mechatronics) or equivalent vocational training (e.g., certified technician, automotive painter, plastics specialist).
- Experience: 3+ years in quality assurance within manufacturing (automotive preferred), with expertise in one or more areas: assembly, injection molding, paint, body-in-white, or electronics.
- Proficiency in quality tools (SPC, FMEA, 5Why, 8D).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and use measurement tools (calipers, CMM).
- Familiarity with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 standards.
- Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, delegate tasks, and drive results in fast-paced environments.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
- Language: Fluent in German (written and spoken); English proficiency preferred.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work shifts and adapt to evolving production demands.
