Description
As an Engagement Strategist, you will drive the development of evidence-based, omnichannel engagement strategies tailored for healthcare professionals (HCPs) across Europe. You will act as a strategic partner who transforms scientific objectives into actionable, channel-specific engagement blueprints that fuel measurable behaviour change.
You will be embedded in agile teams, contributing to the fusion of science, strategy, and storytelling. This role demands deep fluency in European compliance standards, content personalisation at scale, and the ability to co-create with diverse functions including creative, medical, and commercial colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning & Execution
- Translate medical communication objectives into integrated, multichannel experience strategies.
- Consult clients and teams on tailored engagement strategies and inspire their thinking.
- Design and optimise HCP engagement journeys that align with brand goals and scientific narratives.
- Co-lead engagement workshops and roadmap development with client teams.
- Embed channel insights (digital, live, hybrid) and behavioural science principles into strategy.
- Define success metrics, analyse results and consult clients and teams on optimisation.
2. Collaboration & Co-Creation
- Work closely with the Director of Scientific Strategy and the respective Client teams (Medical, Strategy, Account, Creative) to ensure seamless alignment between scientific story, stakeholder mapping, and omnichannel delivery.
- Partner with the OCX Engagement Designer to ensure strategies are creatively and effectively executed.
- Liaise with commercial and medical affairs colleagues to ensure strategy is brand- and customer-aligned.
- Work closely with the European Digital Team in a community of practice, continuously evolving our capabilities and offer.
3. Compliance & Governance
- Ensure all omnichannel strategies respect European regulatory and compliance frameworks (including EFPIA, GDPR, ABPI, and local codes).
- Collaborate with medical reviewers and PMO to integrate MLR workflows seamlessly into delivery timelines.
4. Optimisation & Innovation
- Leverage real-time insights and digital listening to optimise touchpoints and messaging.
- Foster the use of AI-driven content generation, personalisation and modular content workflows to improve efficiency.
- Drive continuous testing and iteration via agile sprint cycles (2–4 weeks), delivering testable assets and insights.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 7 years in medical communications or comparable setting with a strong focus on HCP engagement.
- Proven experience designing and executing omnichannel engagement strategies, preferably in a European or global pharma setting.
- Solid understanding of European compliance and regulatory standards.
- Strong knowledge of digital and hybrid HCP engagement channels and content types.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams (medical, creative, strategy, commercial).
- Familiarity with Veeva, modular content, AI-driven content creation, or similar platforms a strong plus.
- Comfortable working in agile environments, contributing to sprint-based collaboration.
