We are now looking for a
Project Controller (m/f/d)
to join our team working for a better future.
The preferred location for the position is in Hamburg, Germany.
What you will be doing
As a Project controller for Wärtsilä SAM Electronics GmbH you will be part of a professional well-established project controlling department (currently consisting of 10 team members)
In your role you will independently manage all commercial all commercial and business matters of large-scale projects and act as the co-pilot of your projects. By preparing project forecasts, variance analyses and project and management reports you will generate transparency for your internal stake holders.

As Project Controller your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Handling of all commercial and business issues within the scope of major projects (typical project value >40Mio€).
- Commercial key contact person for project managers, project team and customers.
- Preparation of project forecast (cash flow, costs, sales, profitability), preparation of variance analyses, preparation of project and management reports
- Independent opportunity and risk assessment, support of project management in claim management.
- Review and evaluation of quotation and project calculation in cooperation with the project manager, support in the creation and independent monitoring of project-specific key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Accounting in accordance with internal liquidity planning and in coordination with the project manager.
- Ensuring compliance with internal regulations and guidelines on commercial matters.
- Execution of project related month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Participation in customer and supplier negotiations when required
You will shine in this role, when you have:
- You have at least a bachelor's degree in engineering or economics
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in project management or project controlling of complex industrial projects
- Leading personality with an entrepreneurial spirit who knows how to set priorities
- Proven expertise of project management (e.g IPMA or PMI certification)
- Strong numerical and analytical skills developed whilst working on high value projects.
- Ability to independently work within multidisciplinary teams and across multiple projects.
- Solid experience with SAP and MS Office
- Fluent German and English skills written and spoken.
- Willingness to occasionally travel to your project sites (Approx. 5-10%)
