“Research for a life without cancer" is our mission at the German Cancer Research Center. We investigate how cancer develops, identify cancer risk factors and look for new cancer prevention strategies. We develop new methods with which tumors can be diagnosed more precisely and cancer patients can be treated more successfully. Every contribution counts – whether in research, administration or infrastructure. This is what makes our daily work so meaningful and exciting.
The Junior Research Group "Genome Instability in Tumors" works on genome instability, from basic research to translational applications.
To strengthen our international team, we are seeking for the next possible date a
YOUR TASKS
The main activities include:
- Cell culture and tissue preparation
- Immunofluorescence and microscopy analysis
- Molecular biology applications, including DNA and mRNA preparation, PCR, Western blotting, spatial transcriptomics, library preparation
- Functional assays
- In vivo oncology/mouse models
- Administration and documentation (assist with data analysis, order lab supplies and support the general lab organization)
- Assist in designing and planning research project-related experiments
YOUR PROFILE
- Completed training as BTA, MTA or equivalent
- Prior experience with molecular biology methods is an advantage
- Willingness to learn and apply a broad spectrum of methods
- Team spirit
- Good German and English communication skills
