As our footprint expands, we are looking for a Strategy and Project Managemet Lead EMEA (m/f/d) to join our team in Neu-Isenburg (Frankfurt area) in a permanent, hybrid or remote role.
This role supports the coordination and delivery of strategic initiatives focused on UL Solutions’ Global Lab and Operations to ensure world-class testing service delivery, operational excellence and operational innovation. As a member of the Global Lab and Operations organization, you will prepare workplans and execute projects, undertake research, collect and analyze internal and external data, prepare studies, identify and recommend approaches, resources and tools to increase the effectiveness and impact of UL Solutions’ laboratory operations. This will include collecting and analyzing economic, technological, industry, customer, competitor, and other similar data.
Responsibilites:
Strategy and project leadership
- Execute Lab and Operations-related strategy and/or organization-wide initiatives by collaborating with subject matter experts, business leaders and operational leaders globally
- Examine corporate strategies and goals to recommend areas where lab and operations analysis and initiatives should be focused
- Identify, prioritize, plan, and execute activities required to support lab and operations strategies, priorities, and special initiative projects including initiatives led by the Global Lab Operations organization
- Manage the implementation of large and complex programs and provide overall leadership; support one or more global project teams
- Act as front-line contact on program related activities, issues and risks; manages risks and issues and takes corrective measures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams globally on program design, program management, stakeholder management and strategic communications
Business and financial analyst
- Analyze information regarding customers, products, markets, geographies, and competitors in Lab and Operations related areas to assist in developing new and current opportunities.
- Interprets information to determine the costs and potential benefits to Lab and Operations and UL Solutions.
- Interfaces with C-Suite Executives, Business Unit Leaders and finance to develop ROI, IRR and other financial measures. Partners with purchasing to develop POs and manages suppliers and vendor relationships.
- Manages the program’s budget and financial performance.
Employee engagement
- Manages stakeholders’ communication.
- Supports communication and change management of the Lab and Operations strategic plan objectives to cross-functional, regional and local management in coordination with the corporate communications and change management teams.
- Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience
- Generally, 10 years or more of related discipline experience or demonstrated competency including 5 years or more of relevant management/leadership experience or demonstrated competency
- Experience successfully executing programs in a diverse global business environment
- Background in the development of strategic and tactical planning necessary for successful completion of large-scale projects
- Experience developing, evaluating and submitting business cases for major capital investments
- Experience with cross geographical project coordination and management
- Experience working on project and portfolio management Tools (Visio, MS Project, Clarity, etc.).
- Experience in Organizational Change Management
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Examples include: MBA, MA in Project Management, or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- PMP and/or Agile certifications preferred but not required with related hands-on delivery experience.
