Job Description
What you will contribute:
- Conceptually design, execute, and evaluate experiments in the Drug Product Lab, focusing on formulation, filling, lyophilization, and capping in both small-scale and pilot-scale automated setups
- Support manager in strategic prioritization of experimental activities as subject matter expert.
- Collaborate with teams across MS&T, CMC, QA, QC, and manufacturing to support and coordinate process improvements, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management
- Identify limitations of experiments or issues during experiments, analyze causes, propose solutions and prepare technical reports and summaries and present to stakeholders
- Use scale-down models and standardized methods for process characterization and optimization
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with quality standards
- Support and proactively coordinate lab operations via common lab tasks such as procurement, inventory management and introducing new technologies
- Assist in deviation investigations and continuous improvement projects
In this position you will report to the Manager MS&T Lab DP.
What you bring to Takeda:
- MSc in a scientific discipline with at least 6 years of experience in vaccines or biologics drug product development, MS&T labs or start-ups, including conceptual design and execution of complex lab experiments
- In-depth, multi-year expertise in formulation, filling, freeze-drying, automated filling lines and process optimization
- Hands-on experience in experimental design and troubleshooting and creating position papers based on studies and bibliography
- Excellent communication skills in German and English
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, hands-on, with the ability to prioritize tasks, supportive and result oriented
- Hands-on mentality with lab activities to run experiments and support colleagues in execution of complex experiments.
- Experience in live-virus vaccines, tech transfer, cGMP manufacturing, or bioanalytical methods is a plus
