What You'll Do:
Financial Operations Excellence
- Accounts Receivable Management: Maintain customer master data, monitor credit limits, manage collection processes, and ensure accurate account reconciliations
- Accounts Payable Operations: Process incoming invoices efficiently, create electronic payment runs, and maintain vendor account reconciliation
- Payment Processing: Handle all incoming and outgoing payments across multiple channels (bank transfers, cash, credit card transactions)
Strategic Financial Support
- Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of financial statements under German HGB standards and contribute to month-end/ year end closing processes
- Assure local German Compliance
- Corporate Reporting: Input financial results into corporate databases and support group reporting requirements
Specialized Operations
- Customs & Trade: Review customs notifications and manage post-clearance documentation processes
- Expense Management: Verify and process employee travel expenses with attention to policy compliance
- SOX Compliance: Prepare documentation and provide support for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements
Communication & Collaboration
- Stakeholder Relations: Maintain professional correspondence with internal customers and tax consultants in both German and English, in a matrix setup
- Cross-functional Support: Collaborate with various departments and regions (US, Asia, EU) to ensure smooth financial operations
Requirements:
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills
- Strong background and studies in Accounting and finance operations
- At least 7-10 years working in a similar role
- Proficiency in German and English (written and verbal)
- Experience with accounts receivable/payable processes
- Knowledge of German accounting standards (HGB, IFRS)
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data handling
- Advanced Excel and financial software skills ( eg. SAGE, QAD)
Great to have:
- Experience with SOX compliance
- Previous work in a multicultural, industrial environment
