We have an opportunity for a Procurement Buyer I to perform general administrative tasks for purchasing.
Key Responsibilities
The role includes general administrative tasks for Purchasing. These include, for example:- Obtaining quotations and comparing them regarding prices, terms, etc.
- Compiling quotations and coordinating them with the relevant department for technical review.
- Preliminary clarification of prices and terms, selecting quotations, and preparing purchase orders. (This may require knowledge of a foreign language, usually English, and/or relevant foreign-language terminology.)
- Place orders within the specified framework.
- Conduct discussions with the supplier regarding price adjustments as instructed.
- Monitor delivery dates, lodge complaints if necessary, and clarify quantity discrepancies.
- Provide advice on price assessments based on quote comparisons, and if necessary, point out the possibility of purchasing similar parts from other suppliers at more favorable terms.
- Create and update various statistics, documents, reports, graphics, etc.
- Regularly maintain purchasing parameters (e.g., delivery times, minimum order quantities, etc.).
- Prepare relevant data for supplier evaluation according to specified criteria (e.g., delivery reliability, quality, etc.) for the department responsible.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- At least three (3) years of relevant completed vocational training or through two (2) years of relevant completed vocational training plus additional, longer-term professional experience.
- Please note this position is onsite in the office Monday through Friday.
