The job
The Department of Cell Toxicology invites applications for a part-time position (65%) as a PhD student (f/m/x)
Your tasks
- You work in a project that applies cell-based bioassays combining effects with persistence to derive cumulative (CTE) and persistent toxicity equivalents (PTE)
- You extract chemical pollutants from human matrices and test them in the cell-based bioassays
- You quantify the chemical mixtures in the extracts by target analysis
- You characterize the detected chemicals and their CTE and PTE scores and use them for mixture modelling
- You present results at international conferences and prepare publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals

Your profile
- A Master or Diploma in environmental sciences, (eco)toxicology, bioanalysis, or related areas
- Research experience with in vitro bioassays, toxicology or analytical chemistry
- Skills in IT and modelling with a focus toxicity models
- Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills English required, German desirable)
- Motivation to work in an interdisciplinary team
