Role Description:
Drive the growth and positioning of Arcadis in the German Rail market by developing and executing a focused sector strategy. Provide leadership and oversight to expand market presence, win strategic pursuits, and deliver client-centric solutions aligned with Arcadis’ Mobility strategy. This role is distinct from but complementary to the Account Lead for Deutsche Bahn.
The Market Sector Leader - Rail reports to the BA Mobility Sales Director, Germany.
Role Responsibilities:
Sector Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and lead the implementation of the Rail sector strategy for Germany in alignment with the BA Mobility and GBA priorities.
- Translate market trends and client demands into growth opportunities, differentiating Arcadis in the competitive German rail market.
- Drive collaboration across functions to align solutions and capabilities with sector growth goals.
Client & Market Development:
- Engage actively with key rail clients (excluding Deutsche Bahn, which is managed by a dedicated Account Leader) to build new relationships and identify business opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with the Deutsche Bahn Account Leader to ensure strategic alignment and avoid duplication of efforts.
- Represent Arcadis in relevant rail industry forums, conferences, and stakeholder engagements in Germany.
Pursuit & Capability Support:
- Work with Pursuit Leaders and Growth teams to identify, staff, and support high-value rail pursuits across public and private clients in Germany.
- Provide market insight, solution guidance, and technical positioning support to pursuit teams.
- Build and manage a high-performing sector team, including Sector Solutions Leaders and key technical contributors.
Performance Monitoring:
- Track and report sector performance across pipeline, NOI, and strategic pursuits.
- Maintain oversight of sector diversification, ensuring balanced growth across client types and sub-segments (e.g., regional rail, high-speed, freight, infrastructure operators).
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven track record in the German rail infrastructure market, with established client relationships and strategic market insight.
- Experience developing and executing sector or business line strategies in complex, matrixed organizations.
- Commercially astute, with strong leadership and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate with account leaders, pursuit leaders, and technical delivery teams.
- Fluent in German and English.
