The intern supports the project team in the technical, content-related and organisational implementation of project activities, especially in the areas of 'Project Preparation' and 'Capacity Development'. You will work closely together with the CFF-team in Bonn, Berlin, Eschborn and London, as well as with the Senior Project Advisors in our partner cities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of CFF activities in our partner cities globally, especially in the preparation and delivery of technical assistance
- Assist the preparation and implementation of advisory services to partner cities
- Support the CFF city operations team in reviewing and standardising approaches to capacity development and technical assistance to improve the governance of urban infrastructure planning and service delivery
- Taking on tasks related to the day-to-day business of the CFF
- Prepare meetings, workshops and field missions as well as other tasks as necessary
- Compile and prepare presentations and other communication material on the CFF for outreach, knowledge generation and dissemination, and support in the organization of events, conferences and workshops
- University degree in urban planning, political science, international relations, economics, geography, or related fields, with a focus on urban development, climate change or infrastructure development/ finance.
- Practical experience in working with or for bilateral, multilateral, and other international organisations and private sector institutions, including development banks, international city networks, bilateral aid agencies or financial institutions.
- Working experience in the area of urban development and municipal infrastructure and services, as well as related policy fields being an advantage.
- Experience working in developing and emerging countries.
- Proven excellent communication skills with regard to internal and external communication, including with high-level partner organisations.
- Strong skills in fostering partnerships and collaboration both internally and externally.
- A positive attitude and a strong skill set for working in different cultural settings, adapting approaches, communication and activities to necessities on the ground, and thinking strategically in achieving overall project/program goals.
- Excellent oral and written English and Spanish skills. Other language skills, in particular German, Portuguese, and French are an advantage.
