We are currently looking for an Designer Clay Modeller (m/w/d) for our client in the Cologne area.
Your Tasks:
Create and execute physical clay models (interior and/or exterior)
Coordinate activities around the clay model development
Translate engineering parameters into design language
Maintain artistic intent within production constraints
Deliver high-quality surfaces while preserving design emotion
Develop complex surfaces/shapes for picture models
Refine surfaces to clinic model level, including highlight optimization
Continuous communication with the design team
Perform and evaluate model measurements
Operate measuring machines for model data capture and integration
Evaluate data, determine deviations from feasibility, provide feedback
Maintain clean and organized workspace (plate/tool/toolbox maintenance)
Requirements
Skills Required:
3–5 years of experience as a Clay Modeller (automotive or related field)
Education Required:
Qualification in clay modelling, industrial design, sculpture, or similar
Specialized certifications in automotive clay modelling
Mindset & Skills:
Curious mind / Innovation mindset
Design understanding
Collaborative mindset (inside and outside Design)
Organizational skills
