What is the role about?
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role combines core accounting responsibilities with the opportunity to apply — or grow — your basic skills in scripting or automation (e.g. Python, Google App Script) to help us improve efficiency and accuracy across our processes.
Your Responsbilities?
- Support day-to-day accounting operations across our German and US entities
- Perform and maintain a fast and accurate month-end close
- Assist with tax reporting, year-end close, and external audits
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of financial data under relevant standards (HGB, IFRS, or US GAAP)
- Prepare and analyse financial statements; experience in consolidated reporting is a plus
- Coach and support junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment
- Help identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
- Use basic coding/scripting skills to streamline workflows (e.g. with Python, Google App Script)
What will you need to be successful?
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (HGB, IFRS, or US GAAP)
- Hands-on experience with accounting tools such as Datev, Netsuite, Microsoft BC, or similar
- First experience with coding or scripting (e.g. Python, Google App Script), or a strong interest in developing these skills
- Familiarity or willingness to learn German tax reporting (e.g. VAT returns)
- Experience supporting audits and ensuring compliance with accounting standard
- Strong communicator in both English and German (min. B2+)
