The Stationary Precision Coating working group in the Division of Plasma Technology deals with the development of plasma-based vacuum coating processes and technologies for the production of functional coatings using reactive magnetron sputtering. What you will do
In the field of coating processes, accurate data collection is essential for ensuring quality, efficiency, and consistency. Effective documentation of process and metadata allows for better analysis and control of variables that influence the coating outcome. This data not only aids in optimizing production processes but also plays a crucial role in compliance with industry standards and regulations. Furthermore, the gathered data serves as a valuable resource for machine learning applications, enabling predictive analytics and facilitating continuous improvement in coating processes through data-driven insights. By developing a user-friendly graphical interface for data entry, we aim to streamline this critical aspect of coating operations, empowering our team to make informed decisions and enhance overall performance. We are looking for a motivated and skilled Student Assistant to join our team in developing a graphical user interface (GUI) for the entry of process and metadata related to coating processes and thin film analytics. This is an excellent opportunity for a student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field to gain practical experience in software development. This position is on a part-time basis (10 - 20 hours per week) and is temporary. The working hours can be arranged flexibly in agreement with the employees and in consideration of their studies. Remuneration is based on the general works agreement on the employment of assistants.
