The Subsystems Firmware team is looking for an IT and DevOps professional to take care of the environment used in the Firmware and ASIC development teams. You have the opportunity to grow and contribute to these teams developing tasks. You will be our link to the location-wide IT team and work with them on administrating the network, automation and server infrastructure.
We are part of the global Optics Subsystems group developing coherent optical transmission modules. These modules interconnect network nodes and data centers of telecommunication providers or enterprise customers. Our main goal is to extend the optical reach and transmission bandwidth and at the same time reduce power and floorspace needs by using the latest ASIC and optics technologies.
We are expanding our teams and looking for highly motivated engineers to join us in developing the next generations of transmission systems.

- Work as an IT professional and DevOps Engineer as part of a motivated team
- Architect, design, develop and test services or bug resolutions for the IT infrastructure
- Administrate the Linux server and networking environment
- Consider and support specific computing needs for ASIC and Firmware teams
- Architect and setup compute resources in cloud environments
- Evolve usage of CI/CD tools like Jenkins for automation of different tasks
- Diagnose complex problems and provide resolution or recommend corrective actions
- Apply high quality standards and participate in process and tools improvements
- Collaborate with other Optics teams located around the globe
A hands-on attitude, paired with the ability and will to work autonomously on specific topics is highly appreciated. Our team is globally distributed and multi-disciplinary so you can learn and grow in different areas. Although there is no contact to external customers expected, we are in constant contact with our internal customers.
- A degree in Computer Science or related field with a few years of work experience
- Self driven, quick and adaptable learner as well as very good analytical way of thinking
- Experience in IT-administration of a Linux and Windows based infrastructure
- Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN)
- Good proven skills in at least one relevant scripting language like Python
- Experience in Jenkins test automation or CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
- Good communication skills and team-oriented cooperative style of working
- Very good English skills, good German as a plus
It would be nice if you also had:
- Knowledge about ASIC/FPGA design tools and related design languages (e.g. VHDL, Verilog)
- Experience regarding ASIC/FPGA verification tools and related methods
- Understanding of embedded software development tools and languages (C/C++, Rust)
- Experience in virtualization (VMWare) or provisioning (RedHat Satellite/Foreman)
