Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Shop Foreman to lead our team of technicians. You will be responsible for overseeing all shop operations, ensuring that every project is completed with precision and efficiency. Your leadership will be crucial in maintaining our high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of mechanics and technicians, delegating tasks and fostering a collaborative, productive environment.
Operational Excellence: Manage daily workflow, allocate resources effectively, and maintain a strict schedule to meet project deadlines.
Quality & Standards: Perform rigorous quality control inspections on all repairs and maintenance to ensure work meets our exact specifications.
Technical Expertise: Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and secure workshop.
Inventory Control: Oversee parts inventory and manage the ordering of new supplies to prevent delays.
Desired Qualifications
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a vocational program, technical school, or an associate's degree in a related field is a significant plus.
Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a mechanical or automotive repair environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Technical Skills: Proven ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicles and equipment. Strong knowledge of various mechanical systems is essential.
Leadership: Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and motivational skills.
Certification: A valid driver's license is required. Relevant industry certifications (e.g., ASE certification) are highly valued.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Requires the ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, and stoop for extended periods.
Must be able to work in various conditions, including exposure to loud noise, dust, fumes, and moving mechanical parts.
