As a Senior Designer, you are responsible for creating the best product assortment (range) in line with C&A’s creative and consumer strategy, in conjunction with the brand DNA. You translate market trends and understand how they relate within your assigned product area.
Your responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional creative teams to develop and execute a clear and compelling creative vision for C&A's brand collections
- Work with cross functional partners in Merchandising and product development to build and deliver a proper product assortment geared toward our target consumer
- Work closely with the creative lead, cross-functional teams, including product development, and production, to bring the collections to life
- Stay up-to-date on the latest fashion trends and innovations, and incorporate these trends into the C&A brand commercial collections by translating market trends and understanding how they relate within the assigned product area
- Verify designs fit into the overall collection and meet financial guidelines
- Mentor and lead design specialists, and provide guidance and feedback to guarantee their designs align with the brand's DNA, aesthetic, and vision
- Oversee the production process and verify that the final product meets the brand's standards for quality and craftsmanship
- Design and create clothing and accessories, including sketching and creating technical drawings, selecting fabrics, trims, and materials, and working with the product development team to verify the final product meets the brand's standards
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers
- Present designs and collections to senior leadership and other stakeholders, and effectively communicate the creative vision and direction of the brand
What you bring
- Degree in Fashion Design or a related field, or equivalent professional experience with at least 5 years in the industry
- Proven experience in leading and motivating others, including initial experience managing teams of designers and creative professionals, as well as complex projects with multiple priorities, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery
- Strong foundation in fashion design principles (silhouette, proportion, color) and the ability to create original, brand-aligned designs that translate trends into commercial collections
- Deep understanding of fabrics and materials, including their properties, quality, and suitability
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools, particularly Adobe Creative Suite, and the ability to bring creative visions to life using digital tools
- Solid grasp of business strategy, product development, and production processes, with the ability to adapt quickly and collaborate across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a positive, energetic, and motivational personality, committed to supporting team development and career growth
- Excellent communication skills for effectively conveying creative direction to senior leadership and stakeholders, always with a customer-centric mindset
- A strong desire for creative expression combined with analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, organizational strength, attention to detail, and effective time and task management
