We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated team player to join our Search & Landing team as a Senior Backend Engineer. In this role, you will develop high-quality, scalable, reliable, and efficient backend systems that support our mission of delivering exceptional travel experiences. - Design, implement, and maintain highly scalable, reliable, and performant backend systems using PHP, Symfony, RabbitMQ, Kafka, and Kubernetes
- Build fast and scalable backend processes using LLMs, pub-sub architectures, and data enrichment patterns
- Develop flexible APIs, optimized through A/B testing and experimentation in consumer-facing features
- Contribute to the seamless migration of acquired brands to our unified tech stack
- Help shape a tech stack that is low-maintenance and highly resilient, with minimal incidents
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to plan and execute a product-driven roadmap
- Have 5+ years of experience developing backend systems using PHP
- Bring strong experience with enterprise MVC frameworks, ideally Symfony
- Understand and apply core software principles such as SOLID, DRY, and common design patterns
- Possess strong SQL and data modeling skills, with hands-on experience in MySQL/MariaDB and search engines like Elasticsearch
- Demonstrate expertise in designing and maintaining distributed systems
- Are experienced with Docker and containerization workflows
- Communicate effectively in English at a professional business level
