As a Senior Accountant, you are responsible for ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency within the organization. Your tasks include meticulous bookkeeping as well as the preparation of audits. By maintaining precise records, monitoring intercompany transactions, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations, you contribute to financial stability. What you can expect from us
- Accounting Expertise: Full responsibility for the accounting of our legal entities with a strong focus on accurate record-keeping.
- Preparation of Financial Statements (HGB): Timely and compliant preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB), ensuring transparent and reliable financial reporting.
- Special Projects: Active participation in special projects in close collaboration with the finance team to achieve key milestones.
- Intercompany Coordination: Management and oversight of the intercompany reconciliation process, ensuring that internal transactions comply with our transfer pricing guidelines.
- Account Reconciliation: Regular review of key accounts such as payroll, personnel-related costs, payables, and receivables to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Invoicing and Revenue Recognition: Responsibility for project-related invoicing and the proper recognition and deferral of revenues.
- VAT Returns: Preparation of VAT filings and other tax reports, including reconciliations, in full compliance with tax regulations.
- Fixed Assets and Depreciation Management: Maintenance of up-to-date fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules to ensure an accurate reflection of company assets.
- Audit Support: Provision of all required data and documentation for auditors, ensuring thorough preparation and a smooth audit process.
- Team Leadership: Disciplinary and professional leadership of a small team.
- Ad-hoc Accounting Tasks: Handling a variety of ad-hoc accounting assignments with utmost diligence, precision, and compliance with legal requirements.
Your profile
- Successfully completed degree in Finance or a related field, ideally complemented by certification as a Certified Accountant (“Bilanzbuchhalter”) or a comparable qualification
- At least 5 years of professional experience in accounting
- Proactive mindset: enthusiasm for continuous learning and the ability to implement new solutions to improve processes in a dynamic environment
- Solid knowledge of accounting under HGB; IFRS knowledge is a plus
- Proficiency with common accounting software (experience with Business Central is an advantage, but not a requirement)
- Strong analytical skills with a structured and independent way of working
- High level of accuracy, reliability, and discretion
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Good command of both German and English, spoken and written
