Who we are looking for
State Street's Securities Finance (SF) division encompasses three products: Agency Lending, Prime Services and Secured Financing (Repo). These products allow State Street clients to generate income, facilitate short sales or generate financing through the lending and borrowing of Securities. The Agency Lending product is a long-established business and State Street is considered an industry leader in this space. The Prime Services and Repo products are more recently established and are among the fastest growing products at State Street.

What you will be responsible for
As a Product Development Analyst, you would be responsible for implementing & developing product strategy, delivering new products, managing regulatory change and providing business solutions to the evolving industry. This involves evaluating new product proposals against current capabilities and working across all areas of the business to define and plan any necessary changes. The team works hand-in-hand with the Trading, Operations, Relationship Management, Legal, Risk, Finance, Regulatory, Compliance and Technology functions to ensure all perspectives have been considered and incorporated. Work is not complete until every aspect of the project is thoroughly documented. We measure our success by both the amount and quality of new product implementations we are able to bring to market for our business.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with teams across the bank to design and implement solutions to complex business problems related to both supporting the existing business as well as expanding the business to include new products
  • Drive the analysis across these teams required to complete specific projects
  • Identify areas of potential risk and exposure and provides viable solutions to reduce and/or eliminate risk to Securities Finance, State Street and its clients
  • Manage the projects across multiple stakeholders required to implement these solutions from start to finish
  • Ensure the scope of projects are clear and have been thoroughly vetted and review with key areas of Securities Finance and the bank before new products are implemented
  • Assist in raising awareness of and identifying mitigants to risk to the borrower, lender and corporation during the due diligence process for new products and existing product changes
  • Be the subject matter expert on relevant projects to assist teams in understanding and selling products and successfully deploying new products to clients

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • +10 years of experience in financial services, preferably in securities lending, repo, custody or equity finance/prime brokerage
  • Strong understanding of Prime Brokerage and Synthetic Prime Brokerage products
  • Ability to lead, prioritize and execute on multiple simultaneous priorities and initiatives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including MS Powerpoint and VISO
  • Strong business analysis skills being able to use excel and other technology platforms to analyse data sets and input and formulate business cases
  • Project management experience is preferred with a demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to distil and summarise key concepts in writing and present these to a variety of audiences
  • Intellectual curiosity, creativity and a willingness to challenge status quo
