The Recall & Compliance Lead is responsible for leading the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of product recalls across all relevant markets, ensuring timely, effective, and fully compliant resolution of safety-related field issues. In periods where no active recall is in progress, the role supports the wider compliance and field actions teams to ensure that all field actions, including Mandatory Work Orders (MWOs) and UPS campaigns, remain fully aligned with regulatory requirements, whilst also developing methods to improve uptake and saturation rate. This is a cross-functional role that sits at the intersection of safety, compliance, customer satisfaction, and operational delivery.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Timely and Compliant Delivery of Recalls
- Regulatory Engagement and Documentation (regulatory bodies (e.g. NHTSA, DVSA, RAPEX))
- Field Action Compliance Oversight
- Cross-Functional Collaboration between e.g. Engineering, Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Logistics, IT, and Aftersales
- VIN Accuracy and Field Readiness
- Monitoring and Reporting
- Governance and Continuous Improvement
What we are looking for:
- Degree in Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
- Additional qualifications in Quality Management, Compliance, or Project Management (e.g. ISO, Six Sigma) are advantageous
- Strong understanding of automotive aftersales operations, particularly recalls, service campaigns, and field action execution
- Experience working with or alongside regulatory bodies (e.g. NHTSA, DVSA, RAPEX) and familiarity with their submission and reporting requirements
- Understanding of compliance frameworks and the importance of documentation control, audit readiness, and regulatory timelines
- Excellent project coordination skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret technical data, campaign metrics, and issue trends and high level of integrity, discretion, and ownership in managing safety-critical issues
