Postdoctoral scientist
The position is offered for a period of 4 years if no former times of qualification must be considered and can be extended, after positive evaluation, for another 2 years. The starting date is 15.09.2025. The position is fulltime with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13). The overall goal of our group is to understand molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying neuronal structure and function. Tasks:
- Planning and collaborate on molecular and cellular neuroscience research projects within our group ·
- expand research through (inter-)national collaborations, publications and independent projects
- participation in teaching in various courses of Anatomy and Neuroanatomy (4 SWS, including Präparierkurs)
- support grant writing and coordination of animal welfare and biosafety protocols
- supervise and mentor students in both teaching and research contexts
- assist with laboratory organization and management of resources and instrumentation
Profile:
- MSc-degree and doctorate or PhD in Biology, Neuroscience, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Human Medicine or a related subject
- knowledge of anatomy and experience in anatomical teaching a strong advantage
- extensive experience in molecular/cellular neuroscience techniques documented by scientific publications
- FELASA certification and proven track record in conducting experiments with rodent models an advantage
- ability to work both independently and in team settings with strong communication and proven organizational skills to prioritize and multitask
- very good written and spoken skills in English and German
