Job Title: Painter
Department: Base Operations
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Painter to join our Base Operations team. The ideal candidate is a meticulous and reliable professional with a strong understanding of painting techniques, materials, and safety protocols. You will be responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paint, stains, and other finishes to buildings, equipment, and facilities across the base. Your work is vital for maintaining the appearance and integrity of our infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and patching holes or cracks. Remove old paint and ensure all surfaces are smooth and ready for application.
Painting & Finishing: Apply paint, varnish, stain, and other finishes using a variety of tools, including brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
Tool & Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain all painting tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, especially those related to chemical handling and working at heights.
Material Management: Accurately estimate the amount of materials needed for a job and maintain an inventory of paints and supplies.
Desired Qualifications:
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience as a professional painter.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and different types of paints and finishes.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work for extended periods in various conditions.
Certification: A valid driver's license is required.
