Arts Intern
Role Context
The intern will support the Arts Manager and Head of Arts Germany to implement activities in country delivered through one or more of the Arts global programmes: Culture Connects, Spotlights on Culture, Creative Economy and Arts Responds to Global Challenges.
Particular focus will include working on event management, research and communications tasks. Through this internship, they will gain experience in key areas of the Germany Cultural Engagement portfolio.
Role Accountabilities
Event coordination
- Assisting with events and programmes in autumn 2025 in the Cultural Engagement portfolio calendar.
- During the internship, the intern will work closely with the project manager and Head of Arts to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Tasks undertaken will include: supporting event publicity; coordinating with venues; collating and preparing information for participants as necessary; identifying new directions for digital impact; and implementing evaluations of the events.
Research
- The intern will also have the opportunity to undertake research for specific future programmes, such as the upcoming UK/Germany cultural season.
- The intern will support the Arts team in researching potential partners and stakeholders and building and updating contact lists.
Communications
The intern will contribute to the development of external communications materials to highlight UK Arts presence in Germany, activity and stories from the country Arts portfolio as well as opportunities for artists.Qualifications & Experience :
Minimum/essential
- Basic understanding of the arts and creative industries in Germany
- Active commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)
- Strong communication skills (written / spoken in English and German both at C1 level)
- Strong research skills
- Attention to detail
Desirable
- Experience of working in or with the arts and/or creative industries sector
- Experience of working in a multi-lingual office (English/German)
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams Social media / digital skills

Contract Duration: November 2025 – January 2026 (30 hours per week)
Remuneration: 500 EUR per month
