About the Role
The University of Europe for Applied Sciences is seeking a qualified and motivated Economics Instructor to join our Studienkolleg program at the Iserlohn campus. The Studienkolleg prepares international students for academic studies in Germany by providing subject-specific instruction in English. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, international academic environment with highly motivated learners.
Key Responsibilities
- · Deliver 6 academic hours per week (SWS) of engaging and effective Economics instruction in English
- · Teach in-person classes at the Iserlohn campus (fully presencial, no remote teaching)
- · Prepare students for higher education studies in Germany with a focus on economic theory, terminology, and academic skill-building
- · Design and deliver lesson plans, materials, and assessments in line with Studienkolleg curricular standards
- · Foster an interactive, inclusive classroom environment that supports international learners
- · Monitor student progress and provide academic support and feedback
- · Proven experience teaching Economics, ideally at a pre-university or university level
- · Experience teaching international student groups
- · Excellent proficiency in English, with the ability to teach Economics fluently and clearly in English
- · Master’s degree in Economics, Education (M.Ed.), or a closely related field
Preferred Qualifications
- · Experience working in Studienkolleg or similar pre-university educational settings
- · Familiarity with the German higher education system and entrance qualification requirements
- An open-ended framework contract as an external freelance lecturer
