Join SE3 Labs as Founding Assembly Technician! Build the future of autonomous systems with us.
Help us get our autonomous systems airborne. You will own the mechanical integration of our systems and ground equipment. Early team, deeptech hardware, real-world deployment.
About SE3
SE3 Labs is building Spatial AI by combining 3D computer vision with large language models (LLMs). We believe the ability to reason about and act within physical space is foundational to unlocking the next generation of automation, from construction to smart infrastructure, and ultimately, defense.
Now, we’re building the physical platform to bring Spatial AI to life. That means high-performance, real-world robotic systems (starting with UAVs) and we’re looking for a hands-on operator who’s ready to bring these machines into the real world.
About the Role
As our Founding Assembly Technician, you’ll be at the heart of building and iterating our autonomous drone systems. Working closely with our diverse engineering team, you’ll own the integration, mechanical build-out, and workshop operations. This is a role for someone who doesn’t just want to follow plans, they want to help shape them.
Your work will directly impact flight readiness, technical innovation, and the speed at which we bring our vision to reality.
Your Responsibilities
Build & Integrate: Assemble and outfit next-gen UAVs, from avionics to airframe, ensuring systems are flight-ready, reliable, and easily testable.
Own the Workshop: Organize tools and materials, manage prototyping equipment like 3D printers, and set up jigs and fixtures for integration and calibration.
Test & Learn: Run and support system qualification tests; document issues and feed insights back into engineering and product design.
Improve & Optimize: Challenge designs, suggest better tools or processes, and work closely with engineers to iterate faster and smarter.
Special Projects: Whether it’s testing a new composite bonding method or tuning flight controllers, you’ll jump in where needed and lead where you shine.
Your Profile
Hands-on Pro: You’ve completed technical training or an apprenticeship in aircraft mechanics, mechatronics, or a similar field, and have 3+ years of experience working on mechatronic systems, preferably in prototyping or low-rate production.
Execution-Obsessed: You take pride in delivering high-quality results, fast. You don’t wait for perfect instructions. You take initiative, fix problems, and figure things out.
Builder’s Mentality: You’re excited to start from scratch, unpolished prototypes, and the feeling of getting something real into the sky.
Quality-Driven: You think in millimeters, don’t accept loose screws or shaky designs, and always look for ways to make things better.
Fast Learner: You may not know everything on day one, but you're a sponge. From soldering and harness building to CAD tweaks and drone tuning, you’re ready to level up.
Team Player: You’re collaborative, communicative, and committed to helping the whole team win.
Conversational English must have; German is a strong plus.
