SOSi is seeking a highly qualified Subject Matter Expert (SME) Database Architect (Task Lead) to support US Army requirements in the Europe & Africa Area of Responsibility (AOR).
Essential Job Duties
- Serve as Task Lead to ensure effective theater-wide management of this technical area.
- Facilitate flow of information from the PM to geographically dispersed task technical implementation personnel, and ensure task implementation issues / challenges are communicated to the PM for resolution / awareness.
- Manage and mentor subordinates.
- Design strategies for enterprise database systems, focusing on administration, management, and maintenance of DBMS software.
- Architect database solutions in multiple environments, planning for DBMS changes to database structure.
- Establish standards for database operations.
- Develop architectures that ensure the integration of applications, interfaces, extensions, forms, and reports.
- Plan for DBMS installation, configuration, capacity, monitoring, patching, upgrades, backups, restores, performance optimization, availability, and Disaster Recovery.
Minimum Requirements
- An active Secret security clearance with an SSBI.
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years’ experience, or an Associate’s degree with a minimum of 14 years’ experience, or a high school diploma with a minimum of 16 years’ experience.
- DOD Work Role 653 Certs: Security+ and vendor-specific advanced certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or Oracle Certified Professional or equivalent).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint for document management and various administrative tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders and organize materials for In-Progress Review (IPR) meetings.
- Experience producing metrics and reports using Microsoft Office tools.
- Proven administrative support experience, assisting contractor management with various tasks and projects.
- Demonstrated history of discretion, independent judgment, and self-direction.
Work Environment
- Normal office conditions with potential to perform duties in deployed locations.
- Core hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 0600 – 1700.
- May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.
- It is anticipated that contractor personnel will be required to travel on Temporary Duty (TDY) to various CONUS and OCONUS locations based on USAREUR-AF and Mission Partner requirements.
