The job
The Department of Environmental Politics of UFZ is the main academic partner in the six-year project “Implementation and Financing of Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) by the Food and Agriculture Sector to reduce climate risk and environmental impacts in Latin America”. The project is financed by the German Government’s International Climate Initiative (IKI) and coordinated by The Nature Conservancy (TNC). The project works in Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, and Paraguay. The main objective is to promote a large-scale transition towards sustainable/regenerative agricultural systems.The UFZ role in the project is to conduct and coordinate research activities as well as science-policy-practice advice. The thematic foci are co-design of policy and finance options, analysis of narratives, behaviour change of actors along the value chain, as well as evaluation and safeguarding of the multi-dimensional economic, social, and environmental benefits of a transition to regenerative agriculture. In this context, we are looking for a
Student/ Research Assistant (f/m/x), 15 hours/week
The position would be initially for up to one year, with option for extension. Interviews are likely to take place in the second half of September, starting date could be 1st of November.

In this context, we are looking for a
Student/ Research Assistant (f/m/x), 15 hours/week

Your tasks
You will support the UFZ project team on many different tasks, including
- Project management support
- Literature review and data management
- Preparing and documenting team meetings and events
- Preparing and editing documents and presentations
- Participation in - and reflection on – research processes

Your profile
- Excellent first university degree (Bachelor) in social (economics, political sciences, etc.) or interdisciplinary sustainability sciences, agricultural or environmental sciences
- Team work capabilities
- Language proficiency in English, ideally the ability to follow conversations in Spanish
