Overview:
SOSi is currently looking for an experienced Senior Network Administrator to join our team in Ramstein, Germany. The Senior Network Administrator will be responsible for working with multiple members of the team around the globe and supporting information sharing with our international partners.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for working strategic planning and implementing of the Air Component Battle Network (ACBN). Responsible for assessing vendor products, planning, designing,engineering, installing, and maintaining operational capability. Working with existing teams on setting up and administering security procedures; troubleshooting problems; and providing guidance on common networking issues.
- Establish Network information requirements using analysis of the Network Engineer(s) in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale networking infrastructure.
- Design architecture to include software, hardware and communications to support the total requirements; as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces.
- Ensure the network architecture is compatible and in compliance with Federated Mission Networks (FMN) standards.
- Participate in engineering meetings/working groups with other organizations in order to ensure that the ACBN environment remains compatible.
- Manage usage and performance of voice, video and/or data communications networks.
- Maintain network security and ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
- Participate in developing and implementing network-related procedures and standards.
- Interface with vendors and other support personnel to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
- Develop and implement testing strategies and document results.
- Provide advice and training to technical staff and at times end-users.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network problems.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned.
- Maintain technical documentation.
- Develop scripts and tools to automate and improve user support activities.
- Monitor overall network health and troubleshoot reported events.
- Resolve interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms including email, file transfer, multimedia, teleconferencing, authentication, and the like.
- May perform additional network administration duties as directed.
- An active in-scope SECRET clearance.
- High School Diploma with eleven (11) years of IT related experience, OR associate’s degree with seven (7) plus years of IT related experience, OR Bachelor's degree in with 5 (five) plus years of IT related experience.
- Must receive TESA approval from the German government.
- An IAT II certification (CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) or higher is required.
- Knowledge of Security: Cisco ASA product line, ACLs, IPSec, Viasat KG-250, 250X, KG-175D/G/F/X, IPS, Juniper SRX series; Commercial Solution for Classified (CSfC) 802.1x, CISCO ISE.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN: Cisco IOS-XE, Cisco NXOS, Wireshark, Juniper Routers, ESXi Virtual switching, SNMP Monitoring, SolarWinds, Splunk and BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IKEV1, IKEv2.
- Knowledge of Architecture: Deployment, Virtual server deployment, Network and Data Center Design.
- Master's degree in Information Technology or related discipline.
- CCNP certification.
- ITIL-F v3.
- Recent experience supporting Coalition networks/systems.
- Knowledge of VXLAN EVPN multi-site design architectures.
- Knowledge of VXLAN EVPN multi-site design architectures.
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager and collaboration technologies.
- DISA Long Haul Circuit Management experience.
- Experience in Linux operating system.
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
