Job Description
The Instructional Designer plays a pivotal role in shaping the internal learning landscape of MSX, driving the development and delivery of engaging, impactful educational experiences that empower employees to excel in their roles and support the organization’s strategic objectives. This position is dedicated wholly to the curation, design, and deployment of internal learning opportunities aligned with MSX's learning priorities. In parallel, the Instructional Designer is a key contributor to the implementation and integration of a new Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring it becomes a cornerstone of MSX’s Learning & Development (L&D) strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Learning Needs Analysis: Collaborate with business leaders, HR, and subject matter experts to identify and assess MSX’s internal learning priorities, gaps, and future skill requirements. Apply data-driven approaches to pinpoint areas for intervention and improvement.
- Program Design & Curriculum Development: Design and develop comprehensive instructional programs, modules, job aids, and microlearning content tailored to meet identified needs. Ensure materials are engaging, inclusive, and accessible, reflecting best practices in adult learning theory and instructional design.
- Content Delivery & Facilitation: Deliver learning opportunities through multiple modalities including eLearning, virtual instructor-led training (VILT), blended programs, workshops, and social learning. Facilitate live sessions and build capacity for peer-to-peer and manager-led learning.
- LMS Implementation & Optimization: Serve as an instructional design SME throughout the LMS implementation. Partner closely with the LMS project team to configure, test, and launch the system. Develop course templates, user guides, and onboarding materials to maximize adoption and utilization.
- Learning Experience Design: Apply design thinking and user experience principles to create intuitive, effective learning pathways. Continuously evaluate and iterate content based on user feedback and learning analytics.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to champion learning initiatives and increase buy-in. Communicate the value of internal learning and the LMS, positioning both as essential tools for professional growth and organizational success.
- Measurement & Continuous Improvement: Define and implement assessment strategies to measure the impact of learning interventions. Analyze outcomes and feedback to drive innovation and refinement of offerings.
- Learning Resource Management: Curate, organize, and manage a repository of learning resources within the LMS, ensuring content is current, relevant, and aligned with MSX standards.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all internal learning solutions meet compliance, accessibility, and quality standards. Apply frameworks such as SCORM/xAPI where appropriate and stay abreast of eLearning trends and technologies.
- Knowledge Sharing: Foster a culture of continuous learning by facilitating communities of practice, knowledge-sharing sessions, and regular communications about new learning opportunities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience designing and delivering internal corporate learning programs, preferably within a dynamic, matrixed organization.
- Demonstrated expertise in adult learning theory, curriculum development, and learning technology integration.
- Proven experience with Learning Management System (LMS) implementation, configuration, and optimization.
- Proficient with authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, or similar, as well as digital collaboration platforms.
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills; ability to engage diverse audiences and drive participation.
- Strong project management skills, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines concurrently.
- Experience analyzing learning data and utilizing learning analytics to inform content design and delivery.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach and stakeholder focus.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and shifting organizational priorities.
