In your role as Business Development Director, you will assume strategic responsibility for all sales activities within our Data Center Business Unit in the DACH region. This includes both the management of existing key accounts as well as new customer acquisition. In addition to that you manage the strategical development of new business opportunities to venture into new markets. While the current focus is primarily on the DACH region, business development shall be expanded to the neighbouring countries in Eastern and Southern Europe in the future. It´s your responsibility to successfully drive our business development by building meaningful, trustworthy relationships with clear focus for mutual growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate and successfully close multi-million sales opportunities to meet and exceed agreed sales targets within the target markets agreed by the Sales Director EMEA and Business Unit Director CEE
- develop and maintain excellent long-term customer relationships with existing key accounts as well as potential new clients
- assure after sales support to build up mutual confidence and create a sustainable relationship in line with the agreed business strategy
- identify and build up active long-term pipelines whilst exploring both existing markets and targeting new market opportunities
- Raise the company´s profile by representing CBRE at industry events, high level networking and always promoting a professional image of reliable solution provider for the Data Center industry
- Pursue innovative approaches to strengthen our Unique Selling Proposition in the market as the only service provider worldwide that can provide holistic services across the entire lifecycle of a data centre
- Lead, develop and motivate your Business Development Manager and our Business Unit Sales Coordinator and make use of the “alignment advantage” with the wider team to succeed
- Take the complete ownership to assure, you and your team develop and deliver exceptional sales & tender documents as well as presentations in line with our company standards
- Remain up to date with industry developments and strategically monitor competitor activities as well as market trends
- careful coordination of all sales and business development activities with the responsible Business Unit Director and EMEA Sales Director throughout your and your team´s activities and make sure appropriate signoffs are adhered to when considering new business opportunities
- ensure that specialist functions e.g. HR, QHS and Commercial are advised of any new potential business to ensure compliance
- deal promptly and professionally with all pre-qualifications and support re-bids and variations for existing clients if requested
- Several years of experience in sales and business development in the field of facility management or managed services
- Proven record in maintaining and strategical development of existing customer relationships (including the associated increase in revenue) as well as in winning new ones
- KPI driven attitude with experience in high pressure sales environments
- Previous experience with Data Centres or other critical environments would be a plus
- Connector mentality with the ability to deal with a range of people including site staff, suppliers and customers
- Outstanding presentation skills with the capability to create state-of-the-art sales materials
- Reliable communicator with persuasiveness towards stakeholders as well as excellent communication skills in German and English (spoken and written)
- Strong customer focus and the ability to foster team spirit within the team
- Ability to consider both in negotiations the big picture and the details
- Structured working style with strong organizational skills and methodological strengths
